Saturday was jam packed with information, lovely bloggers and fun workouts! When we last met, I was talking about the least awkward ice breaker session of my life. After that we were off to workout with Reebok for many of the bloggers first CrossFit experience!
As a more veteran CrossFit participant, I was super hyped for my fellow lady bloggers to see what all of the hype was about. In the spirit of being truly honest, I was slightly disappointed with the workout. I understand the constraints of the Reebok One team (skill level varies, lots of ladies, lack of equipment on hand) however, I feel like this did not truly represent the difficulty of the workouts. Our WOD (workout of the day) was a 5 minute AMRAP (as many reps as possible) of 7 air squats and 15 jumps. I probably would feel different if those jumps were walking lunges or burpees, but I was glad that I could handle the workout without looking like a sweaty beast.
The CrossFit coaches came from CrossFit Boston and CrossFit New England and were very helpful and informative. For my fellow HLS summit attendees, I encourage you to reach out to your local box for a trial period or session to experience a more difficult and true WOD complete with olympic lifting and cardio.
After our workout, I ran back to the room for a quick shower and scurried off to my first info session of the day with Amanda Brooks on how to run a Virtual Challenge. She was a tremendous speaker and really broke down the importance of clarity for the participant as well as working with sponsors.
After session one, it was off two learning experience #2  with Julie at Savvy Eats. She discussed the importance of how a blog is designed, where to find inspiration and how to execute all the creative ideas swimming around in our brains. This was hugely helpful for me, since my little corner of the blogosphere is on the verge of change and I have been struggling with how to get my ideas on screen.
Once session #2 was over, I was jazzed to begin my ‘laundry list’ of To Do’s for APOG.  Expect lots of great changes in the near future!

Lunch was delicious and healthy and oh so Paleo! Yippee! As you may or may not know, a month ago I attempted to go strict Paleo and my body started to revolt against the lack of dairy. I have incorporated cheese back into my meals which has me a VERY happy cavegirl!

Grilled chicken, tomato and avocado salad and a Greek inspired salad! How can you go wrong?! After lunch was our last two sessions of the day. I atteneded Blogging for Newbies where Courtney and Chase ran a really informative and helpful panel about the do's and don'ts for first time bloggers. I could have sat and talked to them for hours!

At about 3:30 we had time for one last session ...The Grey Areas of blogging. I loved the hashtag for this session was #HLS50shades. If only Christian Grey were running the panel ;)

Finally, the last part of the day had our lovely ladies behind the scenes raffled off prizes and gave last remarks. I was the lucky winner of a Drink Chia! gift bag! These drinks are DELICIOUS and great for a post or pre-workout boost

I drank my mango tangerine bottle after a 7 mile run Sunday and I must say it was perfect for recovery! It filled my hunger void, wasn’t too sweet and gave me the burst of antioxidants needed for my muscles to recover. They are a fairly new product, and can be found at Whole Foods or you can order online. Thanks Drink Chia! for the generous gift bag! Shake it Baby!

I told you there would be many posts to come! Stay tuned for Saturday night Sunday recap!
