Saturday night was more fun than I could have anticipated! Thanks to our resident Bostonian Caroline, we were situated with a reservation (and awesome window seat) at Russell House in Cambridge.
The weather was so beautiful (cool and in the 60’s) and was perfect for a night out with the girls to relax after an exciting day. We started off dinner with an adult bev. Cheers to new friends!
Sticking to my Paleo plan, I ordered a delicious cheeseburger with bacon and side salad for dinner. The food rocked and the company was even better! I loved sharing life stories with Melanie, Caroline and Jamie! It was like we’ve known each other for years!
After dinner we stopped for a little JP Licks ice cream! I have come to realize (with trial and fail) that I cannot handle regular ice cream anymore. So I indulged in chocolate and cinnamon fro yo. This was an amazing combination!
Then it was back to the hotel to crash. I had a long run (10 miles) on the training schedule with Melissa and wanted to be fully rested for it!
Sunday
Sunday came around way too fast. My alarm buzzed at 6am to get up and moving for our 10 mile run. With 59 degrees and the beautiful sites of Boston, how could we go wrong?
We started our run along the Charles River and headed up to the BU Campus and out to Fenway Park!
I <3 Boston so much! Melissa and I decided that we could have summer homes here and be neighbors. You know, when we make all that money for multiple homes around the country ;)
After our first 4 miles together, we headed back to the hotel to join the girls for a 5k farewell run. I’m not that bad at math to think this added up to 10 miles, we decided to scrap the distance for the good company!

With our run done, we ate and went about saying our goodbyes. My roomies were heading out before me so Mel and I decided to do a little exploring of Cambridge.
Walking around Harvard made me have this heavy feeling of nostalgia. We both agreed that given the opportunity to go back to college, we’d take it. Especially with a campus like this!
Walking around Cambridge also brought us to this awesome farmer’s market. Just look at all of the goodies!
Mel and I snagged some Q’s Nuts for the plane and for our men (this is the Paleo person’s dream!). If you’re in the Boston area, be sure to keep a look out for this company! All of the nuts we tried were amazing!
And then it was off to the airport and back to our respective homes. HLS was by far one of the best experiences I have had period. It was inspiring to be around like-minded people that were so motivated to not only be their best selves, but also improve upon their passion of blogging. I came away buzzing about all of the wonderful people I met, the insight they brought to the table, and new motivation I have to improve my blog while staying true to myself.
A HUGE thanks is owed to the lovely ladies behind the scenes at HLS. They were all so sincere, friendly and accommodating! This past weekend had provided me the energy and information I need to pour some TLC into A Pinch of Ginger.
Tomorrow ladies and gents it back to the regular blog schedule of recipes, running and random thoughts! Have a great Friday!
