Hello Friends! Sorry for being MIA this week. I am learning to strike the balance with my new job and it’s a learning process.
This weekend was full of Christmas cheer! A good balance of friends, shopping and chores makes the weekend feel complete.
Saturday was a bit chaotic as I tried to finish up all of my Christmas ‘chores.’ As I went from store to store, gathering goodies for my family, my excitement began to build. I love giving gifts and spend time with the people I love. After, I came home, cleaned and decorated our house and got ready for a fun night out with our good friends Kara and Rick.
We last saw them during the
marathon when Rick joined me for my last leg of the race. Over the last two years, they have become close friends of ours that we enjoy hanging out with be it at
tasting events, running races or simply going out for dinner and drinks. Saturday we headed over to our favorite spot
M.O.M.S. I can say that the experience at
M.O.M.S never disappoints and last night was no exception.
We started with a glass of red wine for her and a Rude Elf for him.
I had a delicious meal of blackened swordfish over BBQ sweet potatoes and crab hash.
The rest of the gang had filet with brussel sprouts, scallops with pumpkin risotto and jambalaya.
With all of the fun Saturday night, Sunday was low-key. We bought our first Christmas tree together at the local high school! Just check out this beauty!
Sunday morning was the perfect combination of decorating the tree and watching Christmas Vacation. (Hence the title of the post) This year’s tree is probably my biggest tree yet and so every last decoration was needed on this bad boy!
Here’s a look at Christmas tree’s past
20102011 Now all we have to do is tuck the gifts underneath (maybe one will have 4 legs, a tail and will bark!?) and our room will be complete.
Question of the Day: If you are of the tree- buying persuasion, how do you select a tree? Is it based on height? Shape? This one I selected on height and the weight of the branches to hold my ornaments.
