Christmas eve is the beginning of all of our family traditions. We have spent every Christmas Eve for as long as I can remember with my dad’s side of the family. When we were little, it was all about getting excited for Santa, gifts and our fancy new pajamas gifted to us by our moms. Today, our Christmas Eve is about coming together and catching up over dinner and drinks with a few good laughs from Christmas’ past and events of the closing year.
Christmas Day is one of the most bitter sweet days of the year for my family. For many years growing up, it was a morning we shared all together, with my grandparents joining us for the unwrapping of presents. Since they have passed, their presence has always been missed and will always bring tears to my eyes Christmas morning. I miss them so much and am so very thankful for the years we had together. I cherish those memories.
This indeed was a very Merry Christmas. I am so sleepy I am taking a hint from Dakota to get some rest.
