Here's the full breakdown:
The Disney marathon and half are notorious for having an early start time. I had to be at the corral between 3- 3:30 am! Clearly I'm not looking too snazzy.
I was one of the first to arrive at the Runners corral in Epcot but the DJ was already spinning the tunes and the volunteers were rockin' out.
We stared by running down the Epcot service roads to the one and only Magic Kingdom. Along the way I ran into some BFFs
I knew Mile 8 was going to be tough for me since that is when my knee started to bother me in my long training runs. Thanks to a great friend and long-time TNT coach, she suggested I dedicate that mile to a friend/someone who is struggling in some way. She said devoting my positive energy to that person might help take my mind off of my body. I dedicated mile 8 to a very dear friend who is struggling with some personal battles and sent all of my positive energy and thoughts his way. I also had a little help from this guy.
So in short, I'm hooked. I don't know if the full marathon bug has bitten me yet and I'm definitely needing some time off from training but Broad Street is right around the corner , and of course there is a Rock N' Roll in Savannah I have my eye on ;)
Do you have any race goals for 2011? Or fitness goals in general?
